Chicken Gyros With Greek Style Vegetables And Tzatziki Sauce

The word "Gyro" comes from the Greek word for “spin" and we know there's quite a bit of argument, even within families, on how to properly pronounce it... But we're not here to tell you how to say it!

All we do know is that these chicken gyros are a super quick and delicious home cooked alternative to takeout and we hope you enjoy them as much as we do.  Savory seasoned chicken, greek style vegetables and tangy tzatziki sauce all in a warm pita? Yes please!

(PS: the correct pronunciation is “yee-ro”)

Chef’s Tip 👨‍🍳 Looking to add some more personality to your Gyros? Try topping with pickled/fresh onions, diced tomatoes or both!

Decent meal

I thought this was an ok meal. The chicken was dark meat, and not the best quality, but the spices were good. The vegetables came out as a soggy mess, but maybe that was what it was supposed to be? My family was not a fan of the dill tzaziki, but I liked it. Note: I got a burn warning at the start of cooking, but added a little extra water, and it was fine.

Will buy again

This meal was great! I saw a lot of reviews about the pita bread becoming dry, but if you let it defrost on the counter, rub a little water on the outsides of the pita and only toast it for 5 minutes to warm up a bit they are perfect! The potato/green bean side was good, not great. I wish the kit also came with what would come in a normal gyro for the price, but we added tomato, cucumber, lettuce, and feta cheese.
